Jeff and Heather Buchanan are a husband and wife team who specialize in lake property.  Along with their associate agent, Debra Bennett, they strive to serve their clients with diligence, competency, kindness, and compassion.  They work tirelessly to ensure that their sellers receive top dollar for their properties with proven marketing strategies, including mass mail-outs to their personal client list that numbers more than 1,000.    They leave no stone unturned when helping their Buyers find the property of their dreams. Broker and Owner Jeff Buchanan has an unparalleled knowledge of the lake that gives him a powerful advantage when it comes to selling real estate.  For over a decade Jeff ran and operated the most successful guide service on Lake Sam Rayburn.  

During that time he also sold lake property as a real estate agent, until which time he sold his guide service and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to delve even deeper into real estate. 

Atlanta is the hottest real estate market in the country, and Jeff rapidly gained experience while working full time as a real estate appraiser. 

He enjoyed the work and the city, but he and his wife, Heather, missed their family back in the Lone Star State and returned to East Texas with their young son, Chip, just in time for the birth of their second son, Blake. 

Jeff also owns and operates The Backlash Lodge and several other lake area rental homes that cater to fisherman and their families.  His current client list tops 1,000 people, all of whom receive his regular email newsletter (“The Reel News at Lake Sam Rayburn”) that includes fishing reports, lake property listings, and lake-area news. 

Over the past few years, many of these lodge clients would regularly inquire about property for sale around the lake, and complain about the lack of service in the lake area.  After about the thousandth inquiry and with much prayer, Jeff and his wife Heather decided to open Jeff Buchanan Realty to fill that gap.  Jeff's background in appraising and his detailed knowledge of Lake Sam Rayburn make him the most reliable resource in the area when it comes to pricing, listing, and finding property. 

No one knows the lake better than Jeff, and he has used this knowledge to meet the needs of those of you who, like him, love the lake.  God has blessed this business and has shown, once again, that all things work for good for those who love and serve the Lord.

HEATHER BUCHANAN
Heather brings a diverse and powerfully dynamic background to Jeff Buchanan Realty.  Heather is not only a Realtor; she’s also a licensed attorney with a keen understanding of the intricacies of contract law. 

She is also widely recognized as the former television news anchor for KTRE-TV, where she worked to serve the community for some 6 years. 

She has been married to Jeff for five years, and they have two precious sons: Chip, who was born in July of 2004, and Blake who made his debut on Valentine’s Day of 2006. 

Heather has an outstanding track record of selling lake properties with amazing speed, but contributes her success to divine intervention, quoting Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine... to Him be the glory.”

Debra has lived in East Texas for more than 23 years, and has worked in lake area real estate for 14 of those.  Her experience and intricate knowledge of the communities surrounding Lake Sam Rayburn make her a true asset when it comes to selling lake property.

Debra has been married to her husband, Richard, for 13 years and has one son, Jimmy, a daughter-in-law, Jenny, and two precious grandchildren: Stella born July of 2005 and James born in January of this year.
